Gift Giving Year Round

Here in Toronto we are enjoying the beautiful fall weather. Even though it feels like summer, I know that the holiday is not far off. As an administrative assistant, I have to start thinking about all the gifts we need to send for the holiday. This is a very long and tedious process. I need to organize which clients and partners are receiving gifts and the specific gifts they will be receiving. Who said the winter holidays is the only season of giving? I say all that gift giving is crucial all year long. There’s American Thanksgiving Day, Hanukkah, Christmas, new additions, birthdays, anniversaries and the list just goes on!

But this time of year, companies are coming out with new stuff and new ways to make gift giving easy. For example, Nutcracker Sweet is putting out their new catalogue this week. Their gift baskets are always so fresh and beautifully decorated. I’ve ordered from them for many years and will continue to do so! There’s something for everyone from corporate to baby gifts. You can see all of the gift baskets on their website, and even order online too!

Speaking of online, a lot of online stores have separate sections for their gift giving ideas. I find this makes it slightly easier to shop for presents, but sometimes it’s too easy to get distracted and shop for yourself… The most fun part of holiday shopping is the stocking-stuffers, and those are always easy to find. I find a nice mix between goodies and useful things is the best bet for stockings.

The best part of any gift are the delicious sweets and treats! Everyone eats their everyday chocolates like the KitKats and the Mars bar. But, in these gifts you’ll find these high quality chocolates, which are hard to find. Some of which include; Ghirardelli chocolate, Godiva Chocolate, Lindt Chocolate and the Rogers Chocolate. Indulge in Yumminess! You also find high quality biscuits, crackers, and chips that you usually don’t see on your local grocery shelves.

In physical stores, too, there are often gift sections with items selected specially for popular gifts. Sometimes it’s just their best-sellers. And often, you’re obligated to get a gift for someone you really don’t know but, I find this section helps a lot!  Of course, when you know the person you’re buying for very well, it makes you pickier! That’s why you go for the best. Your loved ones deserve it.

For those you don’t know very well, it’s hard in its own right because you don’t really know what they like! And if you have to give a gift to someone you don’t even like, forget it! But since it’s the season of giving, try to imagine what you might like to receive or something that you know most people like to get. Why be a Scrooge?

The best gift of all might be each other’s company, but a gift basket or two are never a bad idea.
